Garlicky Herb Oil, Isador’s Italian Sandwich

The following is our garlicky herb oil or Sub Juice that we use on the Isador’s Italian sandwich. Try this at home, but make sure you get all the correct Italian meats! Accept no baloney.

Isador’s Italian Sandwich


Assemble thinly sliced Italian meats in this order:

2 slices of Mortadella, 3 slices of hot capicolla, 3 slices of Genoa salami, 3 slices of pepperoni, 1 slice of Prosciutto (optional), 2 slices of picante provolone, baby spinach tomatoes, red onion, pickles, banana peppers, cherry pepper relish and Garlicky Herb Oil.

Garlicky Herb Oil


  • 1 cup First press olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons dried Italian herbs (oregano, thyme, basil, sage, savory and marjoram)

Mince the garlic and then make a paste of it by adding kosher salt, then using the side of the knife, dragging it across the garlic.

Combine all ingredients and let sit for at least 24 hours to let the flavors marry.
